Karen Rohlf is an internationally known author, speaker, and clinician in the equestrian community with a life-long interest in personal and spiritual development.
Her programs help students and horses enjoy the process of learning to be in harmony by emphasizing empowerment, experimentation, curiosity, and self-awareness. Her unique style of teaching leads students to often report that what they learn with their horses also helps them in their life.
Karen’s quest for a deeper understanding of herself and life and love of sharing what she’s learned is what motivated her to move beyond the equestrian space and share this story with a wider audience.
Karen and her husband live on 41 acres in Ocala, Florida with horses and dogs. They enjoy and nurture the plants and wildlife that surround them and give a special shout-out to the resident family of crows.
A richly illustrated invitation to pay attention, Finding Beauty traces the evolution of Karen’s expansion and embrace of what beauty is. Like the proverbial layers of an onion, Karen peels away at the assumptions about what is beautiful with light humor and deep thought. It’s impossible to read this book and not start noticing beauty everywhere!

This book is beautiful in so many ways. A life lesson taught from the perspective of beauty.
I always thought I had a pretty good sense of gratitude and appreciation for the beauty around me, but this book took me to a new level of awareness and all of the beauty that surrounds us.

I always thought I had a pretty good sense of gratitude and appreciation for the beauty around me, but this book took me to a new level of awareness and all of the beauty that surrounds us.
By taking this extra time to really appreciate the beauty around us, it gets us out of the space in our head and into that beautiful space within our heart, where true peace and joy reside.
The second and probably more important beautiful message this book teaches is that when we start to look at things on the outside as beautiful, it is the path to learning to look at the inside of ourselves as beautiful too! To learn to overlook our imperfections and to not see them as flaws, but to see them in their own unique beauty and perfection. By learning to not judge on the outside, we learn to stop judging ourselves on the inside.
When you realize that beauty is everywhere, you then can realize that that beauty is inside you too! Beauty IS in everything!
A great lesson in the power of beauty!”
